I may have to get my broken usb port at the front of the pc fixed - this was where the usb key worked before. It just seems strange that all documentation mentions its best to install the key on a port at the back of the pc (ie. This is my system - OS is Windows XP, motherboard is ECS GeoForce 6100PM mark 2 - software is Cubase 5.0.1. The Syncrosoft Protection Device is showing up okay in the device manager and seems to be installed correctly. In properties, under the power managemebnt tab, uncheck any checked boxes. ![]() Can you verify that they actually work by plugging in another USB device (thumbstick, USB drive, whatever). If these dont show up either, open the case, and make sure the ports are connected to the USB pins on the motherboard, and ensure they are connected properly. Sometimes they are keyed sometimes they are not, so there is a possibility they are not connected correctly (if this is a custom built PC).
